RaceDay Ingest System – Lynx

General Requirements

1. Network Configuration

   • Ensure all systems are connected on the same network.

2. Folder Sharing

   • All necessary folders must be shared among the systems involved.

3. Category Consistency

   • Category names must match exactly between systems.

4. Time Format

   • The time format should be set to 00:00:00.000.

Lynx Setup

1. Open LYNX Software:

   • Launch the LYNX application on your designated computer.

2. Import Settings:

   • Set Import LIF Time to Yes.
   • Enable Auto Import LIF Files.

3. Results Options:

   • Navigate to Results > Options and set the following fields:

     • Place
     • ID
     • Last Name
     • First Name
     • Affiliation
     • Time
     • Delta Time
     • User 1 should be set to Category.

4. Default Precision:

   • Set the Default Precision to Thousands.

5. Database Configuration:

   • Specify the Out Directory field, noting that it typically refers to a folder in the Temp Directory where the LIF files are being scored.

RaceDay Setup

1. Installation:

   • Download and install RaceDay Event Software on all computers being utilized.
   • Load the License Key into the software.

2. Event Configuration:

   • Build the event, stages, and categories in RaceDay and ensure they match those in Lynx.

3. Athlete File:

   • Load the athlete file appropriately.

4. Options Dropdown:

   • Under the Options menu, adjust the following settings:

     • Set LIF Import Time to Time of Day (Yes Option).
     • Choose Automatically Import LIF Files:

       • Select the directory on the LYNX computer where the LIF files will be written (usually the TEMP folder in Lynx Software).
       • This action will initiate the Monitor Directory.
     • The EVT Category Worksheet will display all stage and category EVT numbers.
     • The LIF Monitor Directory can be hidden or cleared at any time as needed.

5. Managing Results:

   • Once scoring begins, navigate to Results > Results List Screen to manage results. Use the refresh button to update entries as scores are received.

Tips for Successful Setup

• Verify network connectivity between the systems.
• Double-check that folder permissions are correctly configured for sharing.
• Regularly refresh the results list to ensure you have the latest data.
• Ensure consistency in category naming across all systems to prevent scoring errors.
