Utilities Basic setup
- Introduction
RaceDay 2.0 is a comprehensive software platform designed to streamline event registration, timing, and results management. Its robust set of tools allows event directors to efficiently organize, manage, and run events of various scales. This document outlines the key features and functionalities available in RaceDay 2.0, with step-by-step instructions for effective use.
Utilities Drop-Down
The Utilities menu provides tools to set up and control RaceDay 2.0.
User Options
Event directors can set up users and define the level of functionality each can access. This feature ensures secure and efficient management of user permissions.
User Levels:

Level 1: System Admin

Full access to RaceDay 2.0.

Can build user tables and set passwords.

Level 2: Event Manager
-
Access to Athletes, Results, Reports, Live Results, and Messaging Screens.

Level 3: Results Manager
-
Access to Athletes, Results, Reports, and Messaging Screens.
-

Level 4: Registration
-
Access to Athletes and Reports Screens.
-
Important: If the System Admin password is lost, you will need to contact RaceDay support for a reset. Please safeguard your password.
Forms Management
Customize input labels on screens to suit your event or language preferences. Use this tool to rename or hide labels and inputs as necessary.
Instructions:

Use the drop-down at the top-right corner to select the section to edit.

Change the display index to 0 to hide an input box.

Reorder input labels by modifying the index value.

Click Save to apply changes or Reset to revert to the default format.
Payment Types
Track and manage event payments, including online and onsite transactions.
Payment Options:
-
Online: Automatically imported from your online provider. (Do not delete this option.)

Onsite: Payments made during onsite registration (e.g., Cash, Credit Card, Check).
Detailed financial information is available in the Event Summary report.
Initialization Wizard
This tool walks you through the system setup to create your event. Follow these steps:

Enter event details (Name, Type, Date, Location, etc.).

Use the Save New Event button to finalize the setup.

Import pre-registered athlete data by uploading a CSV file and mapping fields.

Use the Create Stage form for multi-stage events.
-
Import athlete data and complete the setup.
Clone Stage
For multi-day events, use this feature to clone athlete data from one stage to another. For example, clone Stage 1 (275 athletes) to Stage 2 for seamless management.
Export Everything
Export event data for use with Lynx Cameras or other timing systems. The file will be saved to your desktop.
Colors
Customize the software’s color scheme to match your preferences or event branding.
Database Options
Manage and back up your RaceDay 2.0 database.

Set up the database with event-specific details, including event type, dates, location, and officials.

Reload Master Athletes
-

Backup Database
-
Regularly back up your database to prevent data loss.

Save backup files on a flash drive or secure folder.

Restore Database
-
Restore a database from a saved file in case of failure.

RaceDay Staff may request this file for troubleshooting.

Migrate DB Bus Logic

Update business logic when notified during a software update.

Help Drop-Down
Located on the far right of the toolbar, the Help menu provides assistance for RaceDay 2.0 users.

Access a user guide offline or print a copy for reference.
